RDC IX conducts 139^th Meeting cum Tree Planting

 For the second time around, the Regional Development Council (RDC) IX conducted a tree planting activity before it convened for its 139^th meeting on March 23, 2012 in Dipolog City. Its officers, members, and guests assembled at the Dipolog City Hall at 6:30 in the morning then motored to Brgy. Upper Dicayas, Dipolog City to plant over 300 various seedlings of trees.

  The 139^th RDC IX meeting then followed at the Top Plaza Hotel. Before the discussion of the main agenda items, the RDC IX awarded Mrs. Velia S. Ebol with a Plaque of Recognition for being a National Awardee as the 2011 Outstanding Volunteer (Individual Category). The same was also given to the Youth Solidarity for Peace Organization for being one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations in the country. During the course of the meeting, ten resolutions were passed on various concerns and issues that included endorsements of a.) Convergence on National Value Chain for Rural Growth and Empowerment Project (CONVERGE) b.) Utilization of the Newly Promulgated Training Regulation in Rubber Production Services National Certificate Level II and Rubber Processing Services National Certificate Level II in the Education and Training of Existing and Prospective Rubber Farmers of Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in Region IX c.) Philippine Youth Development Plan, 2011-2016. The Council also took the opportunity to introduce and welcome the incoming Vice-Chairperson of RDC IX and the new Regional Director of NEDA IX, Director Teresita Socorro C. Ramos from NEDA XII.

 It would be noted that the Council kicked-off its 138^th meeting last November 25, 2011 in Dipolog City also with a tree planting activity to support the National Greening Program of the government.

 The 140^th RDC IX meeting is tentatively scheduled in June 2012. (Ardi Abril T. Layugue- NEDA IX)
